Backstrap weaving is an ancient art practiced for centuries in many parts of the world. Peru, Guatemala, China, Japan, Bolivia, and Mexico are a few of the countries where weavers use a type of backstrap loom. Today it is still used on a daily basis, in many parts of Mexico by women, to weave fabric for their clothing and other needed household textiles such as shawls, baby wraps, tablecloths, washcloths, towels, and so much more.

What we care about
All embroidery is handmade, that is why the embroidered figures or the tone and combination of threads may vary.
With your purchase, you support fair trade between artisan women from Oaxaca and promote the conservation of the textile tradition in this region.
To take care of your garment, it must be washed with mild soap, not squeezed, and laid in the shade.
