Stort Sjal / Pledd

This eye-catching shawl in deep turquoise color is made in Chiapas, Mexico from a weaving technique called backstrap loom. This way of creating dates back more than 3400 years in Mexico. It was the main fiber used for creating clothing before Spanish colonization, but the tradition has been kept alive and is still being used today. Because of the fine threads the weaving requires a deep precision and focus and is always one of a kind.
